Conway Fire responds to 2 cardiac arrests within 3 days

CONWAY— Conway fire has responded two cardiac arrest calls just three days.

Paramedics from the Conway Fire Department responded to a residence on Sidetrack Rd on Sunday for a reported choking incident.

What they found was not choking but a patient suffering cardiac arrest. CPR and defibrillation was performed along with advanced airway placement, IV Therapy, and medication administration to restore this patient’s heart beat and drive to breathe.

Then on Tuesday paramedics responded again to a cardiac arrest call, in which the patient was stabilized and then taken to a local hospital for recovery.

Conway was able to save these two lives with the proper CPR training.
