Convicted sex offender charged with failing to register


CONCORD - Police arrested a convicted sex offender on Thursday for failing to register.

Christopher Lee, 37, of Newport, had been seen getting into a vehicle in Andover. Police followed the vehicle and stopped it on Route 4A in Wilmot.

Lee was positively identified and taken into custody without incident. He also was wanted on an electronic bench warrant issued by Newport district court.

Lee was processed and released on the electronic bench warrant but was held without bail on the warrant for duty to report. He was turned over to the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office and transported to the Sullivan County Jail pending arraignment in the Sullivan County Superior Court.
