Concord water and wastewater plants protected with new video security system
CONCORD — New cameras and video security systems are now protecting the city's water and wastewater treatment plants.
Concord General Services applied and received a $12,500 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to improve security at the water treatment plant and the Hall Street wastewater treatment plant.
The video monitoring systems, which include four security cameras, were installed in May at the Hall Street location and in June at the water treatment plant.
"These security upgrades have improved safety at both plants and have increased awareness to the staff at these facilities," the city said in a news release.
