CONCORD - The city's Main Street was under water Tuesday morning after crews working on Concord's Main Street redesign project hit a water main.
Thousands of gallons of water gushed flooded the street after crews from Severino Trucking hit a water main near CVS after 7 a.m.
The crews were trying to move a fire hydrant, and a trench box slipped and hit a 20 inch water main.
Officials worked to shut down valves throughout the area. There is no current timetable on when water will be restored.
A few businesses closed down because they had no water pressure.
Drivers should expect to continue to deal with some congestion if going through the area.
