CONCORD - Beaver Meadow Elementary School's principal has resigned amid controversy.
John Forrest, who previously served as Beaver Meadow's principal, has resigned after being on paid administrative leave for more than seven weeks.
Forrest was mysteriously placed on leave in April and continued to receive his six-figure salary.
Ben Greene, the current assistant principal at Concord High School, has agreed to serve as principal at Beaver Meadow School for the 2015-2016 school year.
Forrest was investigated by police for allegedly using too much physical contact with a student, but charges were never filed.
Greene will take a leave of absence from Concord High School while incoming Superintendent Terri Forsten begins the search for a permanent principal for Beaver Meadow.
