Concord rings in new year as it prepares for 250th anniversary
CONCORD - The city rang in the new year with a trip through time. As we say goodbye to 2014 the new year is a special occasion for the state capital.
2015 is the city's 250th anniversary.
"People want to be here together to honor our past and look forward and step into the future together," said Concord 250 Project Manager Kim Murdoch.
"I've gotten such an appreciation for where the city came from that it's really a fun experience to come and celebrate," said Concord resident Bridget Overson.
From old photos and old fashions people danced the night away on New Year's Eve while celebrating the city's history."
"We're so excited to be here for the very first minute and hopefully we'll be here next year to celebrate the very last minutes," said Concord 250's Jennifer Kretovic.
And the gala is the kickoff of a new year and a year long celebration.
"Throughout the year there will be smaller events and then larger things like time capsules on June 7th and then we'll bury a new time capsule in August," said Murdoch.
