Concord residents form cooperative to buy mobile home park

The Associated Press

CONCORD — Residents of Green Meadows Mobile Home Park have closed on the purchased of their 109-unit park, making it New Hampshire's 115th resident-owned manufactured home community.

They formed the Freedom Village Cooperative in August to convert the privately owned park into a resident-owned community. They received help from ROC-NH, a statewide program of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund.

The cooperative negotiated with park owners James and Kathy Grappone for the purchase price of $4.25 million before finalizing the deal with a mortgage from the Community Loan Fund.

Co-op Secretary Fay Waterman said she is proud of her neighbors for taking on the challenge of buying and managing their community.
