Concord needs donations for Christmas tree lighting event

CONCORD- Concord may be full of Christmas cheer, but is less full of donations for the planned Christmas tree lighting event.

According to the Concord Monitor, Dick Patten, who has coordinated the annual event for the city for years, said donations this year are hard to come by.

Though Patten thinks he has found a good tree to put on in the Statehouse outdoor display, the event, which features planned attractions such as pony and wagon rides, a petting zoo and fireworks, is about $3,000 short.

The event is planned for the Friday following Thanksgiving.
