Concord man accused of shooting gun 30 times downtown has lengthy rap sheet

CONCORD — A Concord man arraigned Thursday afternoon in Merrimack County Superior Court for allegedly shooting a gun at least 30 times last night in the downtown area, according to Prosecuting Attorney Ashlie Hooper. 33-year-old Timothy Dearborn faces four charges, two of which are felonies.

Hooper requested bail be set at $100k cash only explaining Dearborn as a risk to the community as she described a long wrap sheet dating back to 2001. Dearborn had been in and out of jail on dozens of crimes.

Some of those convictions include resisting arrest, reckless conduct, simple assault, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and burglary. Hooper also says Dearborn has 14 pending charges including breach of bail and theft from Concord District Court. In Nashua, Dearborn is facing charges of disorderly conduct, public urination and defecation and indecent exposure.

"The defendant presents a danger to the community," Hooper explained to Judge Richard McNamara. "He fired 30 rounds with a 9mm semi automatic pistol. This was in the downtown area of Concord." Hooper says Dearborn told police he had been drinking at a bar before the shooting.

Public defender Tracy Scavarelli represented Dearborn in court and asked the judge for him to be released on personal recognizance bail with supervision and mental health counseling. Scavarelli says Dearborn has mental health issues and has been hospitalized in the past. Scavarelli says Dearborn is pleading not guilty as she says no one saw Dearborn fire the gun and he did not have the gun on him at the time of arrest.

Judge McNamara set bail at $50,000.
