CONCORD - "We are... Main Street... We are... Concord!" cheered the crowed at the official groundbreaking ceremony in Concord.
The ceremony marked the official start of construction to the Main Street redesign project.
Heavy machinery moved in and began to break up road pavement as a part of the project is widening sidewalks and repaving Main Street.
The ceremony marks an important part not only for Concord but for all of New Hampshire, according to Concord City Engineer, Ed Roberge.
"I think this is a project for the community," Roberge said. "We always call this downtown, New Hampshire's downtown - being the capital city. It's important to give this back to the people."
