Concord Eagles Club donates $3,000 to Franklin Fire Department for medical equipment

FRANKLIN — The fire department received a $3,000 donation from the Concord Eagles Club for custom lifesaving medical equipment.

The paramedics said they had been trying to purchase two EMS Video Laryngoscopes.

The Eagles Club donation will fund one of the two Larngoscopes that the department will be purchasing. The second will be purchased through donations made to the Franklin Fire Department Memorial Fund. Each of the cities ambulances will carry the new equipment.

The Laryngoscopes are used to view a patient's airway while inserting a breathing tube into the patient's wind pipe. The Laryngoscops are used when a patient is not breathing or is in cardiac arrest.
