Concerned calls in Pelham lead to DWI arrest

PELHAM — Two calls from concerned motorists led to a drunk driving arrest on Monday morning.

Police received a call at 8:43 a.m. about a silver Chevrolet Impala that was speeding and veering all over the roadway on Tarrant Road. A second call went in expressing concerns about the same vehicle. The area was known to be a place with morning commuter traffic, and kids waiting at bus stops before school. Police found the car partially pulled into a driveway when they arrived.

The driver of the Impala, Meghan Carney, 25, of Hampton was deemed heavily drunk by police, and arrested.

Carney's blood alcohol content was three times over the legal limit of .08. Carney was charged with drunk driving, and released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail, with a court date set for Oct. 31, 2016.
