A GoFundMe page sought to raise $10,000 for the woman who lost five of her six dogs, and less than a day later it had already raised nearly $15,000 by 2 p.m. Saturday.

The blaze happened on Friday morning at about 9 a.m. Firefighters arrived on scene and could see smoke coming from the eaves. The fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes.

The neighbor who called 911 told firefighters that there were 6 dogs inside the home and that the homeowner was not home. The firefighters found 5 of the dogs and performed CPR to try to revive them but were unsuccessful. They found the sixth dog alive hiding underneath a bed and brought it to Health & Wellness Animal Hospital in Hampton Falls.

The dog has since then been taken to an unnamed animal hospital in Portsmouth.
