An online fundraising effort for a Sandown boy who was injured in a motorcycle accident Tuesday has raised over $2,000 towards its $20,000 goal.

Friends and family of Brandan Bouchard, 13, who crashed his dirt bike earlier this week have called out on a GoFundMe page to help with costs related to the crash.

Authorities say that Bouchard crashed his dirt bike into a tree while riding with his brother and a friend on the Rockingham Recreational Trail near his Sandown home.

Bouchard - who police said had little to no experience with operating a dirt bike - hit a rough section of the trail causing him to lose control of his dirt bike. This led him off the path, where he hit multiple trees with his body.

He was later airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
