AMESBURY, Mass. - After more than a dozen prom dresses were stolen from a charity who provides dresses to girls who can't afford them, the community is helping out.
Tammi's Closet, a charity that donates prom dresses to teens who can't afford them had over a dozen dresses stolen from them. Even though the dresses have not yet been located, while police continue an investigation, many people in the community are helping the charity recover by donating their prom dresses to it.
According to myfoxboston.com, the charity was named by the parents of a young girl named Tammi, who died in a car wreck just two years after her own prom.
It was when Tammi's prom dress was donated to another high school student when the idea to do the same for others was born.
If you have a prom dress laying around that you would like to get rid of, you can contact Tammi's Closet at tammiscloset.com.
