Columbine shooting in 1999 continues to raise school safety concerns, gun debates


Today is the 18th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting in Littleton, Colo.

Shortly after 11 a.m. April 20, 1999, Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold,17 came into their school armed and went on a shooting spree, killing 12 students and a teacher before killing themselves.

More than 20 others were wounded in the attack. Several explosive devices were found at the school.

The two boys had made videos before carrying out thier attack, apologizing to their parents and referencing what they were about to do.

The attack prompted a continued discussion about school safety and guns.
