Collision on North Main in Rochester causes traffic to be rerouted

ROCHESTER - An 81-year-old woman was taken to the hospital and North Main Street was shut down briefly after two cars collided on Friday afternoon.

According to police, Betty Dube, 81, of Rochester, was turning from Willey Street onto North Main around 4:20 p.m. when she hit a car driven by Kayleigh Boggs, 29, of Virginia Beach, Va., as she headed south on North Main.

The front of Bogg's vehicle hit the passenger side of Dube's car, causing serious damage to both vehicles and knocking one of the cars into the yard of a home at the corner of North Main and Jenness streets. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and traffic was re-routed onto side streets while the vehicles were removed.

Police say Dube was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
