College commencement season gets underway in New Hampshire

CONCORD (AP) — College commencement season is getting underway in New Hampshire, with graduations Saturday for four Granite State colleges.

Keene State College is awarding diplomas to 989 undergraduates on the Fiske Quad.

Nashua's Rivier University will confer degrees on 925 undergraduate students at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Colby-Sawyer College in New London will award diplomas to 273 undergraduates.

The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, which has a Manchester campus, will confer degrees on more than 550 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The New Hampshire College and University Council says other colleges in the state will hold commencements in the coming weeks, with Dartmouth College capping off the season on June 12. NHCUC president Thomas Horgan says more than 19,000 students are receiving degrees.
