Colebrook man strikes guardrail and paving equipment, pronounced dead at scene

DIXVILLE— A man drove into paving equipment in a construction zone and suffered fatal injuries on Friday.

George Heald, 60 of Colebrook, was heading west on Route 26 around 3:35 p.m. when his Toyota Celica went off the right side of the road, striking traffic cones, a guardrail, and then the piece of paving equipment.

Heald suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Speed and alcohol did not seem to be factors in this collision.

At this time the investigation is on-going and anyone who witnessed the collision is being asked to contact Trooper Michael Petrillo at NH state police, Troop F at (603)-846-3333.
