CONCORD - Bitter cold temperatures to start the day led to many not starting their cars this morning. AAA received more than 5,000 calls from Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
At one point they received calls in an hour. All calls were related to cold weather and involved jump starts, frozen gas lines and frozen locks. 100 service vehicles were working across all three states today. Dangerously cold temperatures can be bad for the car battery.
When it's below zero it loses 60 percent of its crank power.
