DURHAM — The 22-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a van last week on Route 4 in Durham has died.
Richard M. Davies, 22 of Texas, was struck Friday at about 4 a.m. while standing in the westbound lane of Route 4. He died from his injuries at Portsmouth Hospital.
Davies was struck by a 2013 Ford E-350 van driven by Jason M. Poulin, 44 of Maine. Charges are not expected at this time, according to police.
Davies was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard stationed at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. The incident is still under investigation.
