Clayton Stiver's update on the snow showers, snow squalls on Friday
Scattered snow showers and localized snow squalls continue to be picked up on doppler radar and surface observations. These have proven to be vigorous at times as a 50-100 car pile up occurred on I-93N in the Ashland area.
A cold front is tracking through as we speak and this looks to continue to spark these snow showers and squalls for at least another hour or two. Visibility may be sharply reduced over short distances and create slick areas on roadways. Accumulations will range from a dusting to an inch with up to 2" possible in the more persistent snow bands.
If driving, make sure you slow down and leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, especially if you get into one of these snow squalls. Be safe!
