Clayton Stiver's 7-day NH1 Forecast for Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015

Cold high pressure lingers across the area through Saturday Morning leading to fair skies but a very cold start first thing in the morning with temps several degrees below 0. The high will slide out to sea to our south allowing clouds to increase and warmer air to build in with a south breeze.

We'll track a storm system moving in from our southwest that may actually bring enough warm air to make for a mix of snow and rain from Saturday Night through Sunday Morning. The best chance for any mixing of rain will be across southern NH and the Seacoast. The Seacoast may even change over to all rain. As far as snowfall totals go, right now it looks like for many it will be on the order of 2"-4". The White Mountains may see 4"-6". The immediate Seacoast 1"-2" with the totals cut down here due to rain mixing in. The system will be a quick mover so by sunrise Sunday most if not all of us will be done with the snow/rain. Some clearing can be expected by Sunday Afternoon. A south wind will continue to bring warmer air to NH, possibly getting temps up close to 40.

More cold arctic air builds back in for the start of next week with high pressure leading to fair skies. Another storm system may impact the area Wednesday, perhaps as a coastal storm, but uncertainty remains with just how organized this system will be. Another shot of cold air will settle back in for the end of next week with high pressure bringing fair skies.

Saturday: Increasing clouds with snow likely after 4pm, highs 23-27. Saturday Night: Snow likely, possibly mixing with or changing over to rain after midnight for the Merrimack Valley and points east to the Seacoast, temps slowly rising to 32. Sunday: Some early morning snow and rain otherwise gradual clearing, much warmer, highs 35-39. Monday: Mostly sunny, breezy and cold, highs 9-13. Tuesday: Sun and clouds, cold, highs 14-18. Wednesday: Cloudy with a chance of snow, highs 27-31. Thursday: Mostly sunny and cold, highs 19-23. Friday: Mostly sunny and cold, highs 17-21.
