Classes cancelled at Bedford High School, Lurgio Middle School
BEDFORD - Classes at Bedford High School and Lurigo Middle School were cancelled today after school officials received a bomb threat.
School Superintendent Chip McGee says someone called in a threat to the high school principal's office, who then notified Bedford Police. McGee says police believed the threat to be credible enough to warrant a search of both Bedford High School and Lurigo Middle School.
Superintendent McGee said police expected the search to take at least half a day, which is what led to the decision to cancel classes.
Police say nothing was found during their search. The chief said New Hampshire investigators worked with police in Bedford, Massachusetts, where a similar threat was communicated to school officials. That high school was also evacuated. The threat is believed to be a hoax.
