Claremont man caught with child porn will spend 18 months in prison in plea deal

CONCORD - A Claremont man will spend 18 months in prison for admitting to possessing child pornography, officials said.

James Bednarcyk, 28, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in federal court this week. In April 2014, an undercover investigation determined that pornographic images depicting children were being shared on the internet at Bednarcyk's home. A search warrant was executed and 20 videos and 70 still images of child pornography were found on his laptop computer.

The case was investigated by the Vermont Attorney General’s Office, Homeland Security, the state's Crimes Against Children Task Force, an the police departments of Hampton, Claremont, Portsmouth, Nashua and Rochester.
