Chief: no idea where missing Virginia student is

The Associated Press

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) Thirteen days after a University of Virginia student vanished, police are appealing to the public to help them in their search for the 18-year-old.

Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Longo said Thursday the search for Hannah Graham is expanding to rural areas outside the college town of 40,000. He asked property owners to help in the search.

And he says investigators have "no idea whatsoever" where she is.

A man charged with her abduction was arrested Wednesday in Galveston, Texas. Longo said he expects Jesse Leroy Matthew Jr. to be returned to Charlottesville either Friday or Saturday.
