Chichester farm seeking donations for pony whose hooves are severely overgrown
CHICHESTER - Live and Let Live Farm is asking for donations after rescuing two horses and a pony last week.
The pony, who the farm named Sweet Sugar, has hooves that are overgrown and a sign of years of neglect.
According to the Concord Monitor, the three animals came from the Peterborough area. The farm said x-rays are planned for Sweet Sugar and she will receive major hoof work this week.
The farm is looking for donations to help pay for care for the pony and the two horses, who are named Carl and Joe. Donations can be made on the farm's website.
The rescue is the first of two that took place in New Hampshire in recent days.
New Hampshire State Police said 10 horses had to be removed from a property Sunday in Dalton as part of an ongoing investigation into possible animal cruelty. Police are asking that anyone with information about the allegation of abuse to contact Trooper Daniel Quartulli at Troop F (603) 223-8993.
