Manchester has lost a community treasure with the passing of longtime educator and coach Hubert (Hubie) McDonough Jr.
For over 30 years, McDonough was a teacher and mentor at Manchester Central High School and later at Memorial High School.
McDonough was also a legendary football, baseball and hockey coach at Memorial High School. He was also working umpire.
When it came to spirit, there was no one better - conducting pep rallies and bonfires, McDonough was a great emcee.
If you knew McDonough. you knew what a great sense of humor he had and what a great patriot he was.
McDonough leaves his wife of 55 years, Lorraine, three children and and six grandchildren.
There are no calling hours but a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the St. Anselm Abbey Chapel.
