Charges against then-boyfriend of Nashua mom accused of murder dropped
NASHUA - Child abuse charges against the then-boyfriend of a Nashua mom accused of killing her daughter have been dropped, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.
Michael Rivera, 31, of Hudson, was indicted in July for second-degree assault against an 8-year-old boy.
The boy is one of Katlyn Marin's four sons. Marin is facing second-degree murder charges for the November death of her 3-year-old daughter Brielle Gage.
Marin also had been indicted in the child abuse case but charges against her were dropped in December.
The pair were arrested in May and accused of whipping the boy with a belt.
Rivera's trial had been scheduled to start Monday.
