Charges against Damian Johnson - accused in Manchester, NH, high school lockdown - dropped in district court
MANCHESTER - NH1 News has learned that the charges against a man who prompted a high school lockdown Sept. 25 have been dropped in district court.
Damian Johnson was accused of bringing an airsoft gun into the school, along with a knife, and hiding them in a friend's backpack to avoid being arrested.
His trial was scheduled to start Thursday morning but according to attorney John Blanchard, Johnson will now go on trial in superior court.
Police said his former teacher said he simply went to the school to ask her for a letter of recommendation to attend college.
Johnson has been charged with several misdemeanors, including criminal trespassing and creating a disturbance in a school.
