Changing Families: Standing desks come with some health warning


CHANGING FAMILIES - As standing desks grow in popularity, research shows these new additions to offices can cause health problems if they are not used correctly.

Although research shows standing desks can lead to increased productivity, and workers are said to be happier and more energized, other research found some drawbacks.

They can be stressful on the body if you switch from sitting to standing too quickly. It's like introducing any new exercise to your body, you have to work your way up to it. Extended periods of standing without moving can increase the risk of varicose veins and lower back aches.
