Progress is being made on a male birth control pill.
University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy researchers worked on detecting problems with other experimental male birth control pills. Some pharmaceutical companies have reached experimental stages in their work, but researchers say that some serious flaws persist. By tweaking the compounds, they were able to improve their success. They are still working to achieve "the ultimate balance of solubility, specificity and stability."
While there are a number of birth control pills available for women, they are not a suitable option for all couples.
