Changing Families: Falls can hinder older drivers' ability to drive safely

CHANGING FAMILIES - It's a dilemma we eventually will all have to face. When is the right time to hang up the car keys, for good?

A new study released by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety shows older drivers with a history of falling are 40 percent more likely to be involved in crashes than their peers. Falls limit an older drivers’ ability to function behind the wheel and can make driving risky for themselves and others on the road.

Annually, a record 12 million older adults will experience a fall. AAA suggests that preventing falls can make roads safer.
