Changing Families: Chipotle offers Super Bowl discounts; Britain scientists alter embryo genes

CHANGING FAMILIES - Chipolte's E. coli outbreak appears to be over. Shares of Chipotle stock spiked almost five percent on Monday on the news.

Dozens of customers in several states had reported getting sick.

To win back customers, Chipotle is planning deep discounts for the upcoming Super Bowl weekend. And next Monday the chain will briefly close all of its restaurants for an employee meeting.

Britain is allowing researchers to edit the genes of human embryos.

The decision is raising new questions about the ethics of the new technology.

Scientists say one day the technique might help them treat devastating inherited diseases, such as muscular dystrophy, or wipe out malaria-carrying mosquitoes.

Opponents say gene editing might eventually lead to so-called designer babies.
