The Owl, written by bestselling author, Jeremy Robinson, will make the rounds at several large festivals, granting exposure to all involved. It will not only be a calling card for the actors and directors, but may also be a potential launching point for a feature length film.
The Owl is a horror short film following two men’s search for a girl gone missing—or taken—in the dark woods of New Hampshire, where something inhuman lurks.
AMANDA - Female - Age 10 - 14
Amanda is a typical young woman who experiences a full range of emotion, from wonderment to abject horror. She’s on her own in the woods, which appear both magical and full of potential evil.
HEATHER - Female - Age 35 - 45
Heather is the worried mother of Amanda. She desperately, and concisely, appeals for the rescue of her missing daughter. She is attractive and on the cusp of starting a relationship with George.
GEORGE - Male - 40 - 50
Father of Chris and interested in Heather, George is a responsible, upstanding man full of nobility and New England gumption . He and Chris set out on a quest to find Amanda, who is missing. He’s strong and fit. Owns a small construction company. Must be capable of stern seriousness and abject fear.
CHRIS - Male - 20 - 25
Chris is like a thinner, younger version of George, but with a crafty smile and a sense of humor. He’s looser than his father. Casual. A trace of mischief, but at the core, his father’s son. He’s fit, and fast, capable of running at great speed, with Tom Cruise-like passion. Emotional range is from casual, sarcastic humor to abject fear.
