Carl Edwards has his eyes on lobster as he gets ready to compete - and win - at NHMS

BOSTON, Mass. — Carl Edwards is determined to win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this year - enjoying the lobster reward that comes with the victory.

Edwards made a trip through New England on Tuesday, NASCAR.com reported. He visited historic downtown Boston with representatives from NHMS - Milo the Moose mascot and all - where he made it clear that he wants to take home his first lobster this summer.

"I really like eating lobster, so that lobster's out of luck if we win, I can tell you that," Edwards told a crowd at outside Quincy Market. "I want to win this race. It's a tough place and a lot of fun, but if you win at New Hampshire, you know you've done something … you've earned it. It's a really hard track. We've won in the XFINITY Series, but in the Cup Series we haven't done it."

Edwards has had quite a few near-misses on the track in the past seasons, but he is still ranked as a favorite.

"The track itself is very unique," he said. "It looks simple, just a 1-mile race track and it's really flat and it's a true oval, but it's a really tough place. Any driver will tell you that success at New Hampshire is a true success and you really have to do everything right. No matter how good you are, it's those restarts … as you know if you've been to the race, they're insane. Lot of crazy stuff that happens."

The speedway officially opens this weekend, and NASCAR comes for the New Hampshire 301 on July 17.
