ROCHESTER — A car hit a motorcycle Wednesday night sending the motorcycle's driver to the hospital.
A Pontiac Grand Prix struck a Suzuki motorcycle while turning left at the intersection of Washington and Fairway in Rochester, sending it up onto the sidewalk at about 7:15 p.m.
When emergency responders arrived, motorcycle debris was scattered across the road and its operator was being attended by passers by. The Grand Prix was found on Fairway Avenue with severe front end damage.
Motorcyclist Gregory Downing, 40, of Rochester, was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for serious - but not life threatening - injuries.
The car's driver, Cameron Horne, 17, also of Rochester, was issued a summons for failure of vehicle turning left to yield the right of way.
