WEST YARMOUTH, Mass. - Two women from New Hampshire have been charged with drug crimes and one with prostitution after an arrest on Cape Cod last week.
According to Cape Cod Today, Theresa Copello, 21, of 6 Partridge Lane in Londonderry, was charged with drug possession and sexual conduct for a fee after police say she propositioned an undercover officer.
Metraca L. Barry, 23, of 23 Conant St., Manchester, was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm or ammunition, and improper storage of a firearm.
A third person, 31-year-old Christen Anthony Cherry of 63 Washington Ave. in Chelsea, Mass. was arrested when he returned to the motel and police allegedly found a "spring-assisted" knife in his possession. Cherry was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, possession of heroin with intent to distribute and deriving support from prostitution.
Police say in addition to the weapons, they found six grams of pressed heroin, two grams of powdered heroin, several grams of marijuana and three suboxone strips. Police also found evidence of drug dealing including a digital scale, several cell phones, plastic baggies and $305 in cash.
Police say the arrests at the Town and Country Motel on Route 28 were the result of an ongoing investigation by the Proactive Anti-Crime Unit.
All three were arraigned in Barnstable District Court, and Cherry is currently being held on $10,000 bail at the Barnstable jail.
