Candlelight vigil planned in Portsmouth tonight

PORTSMOUTH - A planned vigil in Portsmouth tonight will be silent.
Black Lives Matter / End the Violence / Candlelight Vigil, which will be held tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Market Square, will now be a silent candlelight vigil in response to the Dallas shootings. The vigil was organized in response to the killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.
In a prepared statement, Occupy New Hampshire Seacoast, which is organizing the event, said: "Our hearts go out to the friends and families of all those who have died needlessly this week. We denounce all violence, and this only highlights that we must act immediately to change the culture of violence which is predominant in America today; we can't afford to let it continue as this week has demonstrated."

The rain date is Sunday, July 10.
