Candia brush fire has now claimed 10 acres of land

CANDIA — Ten acres of land have been claimed by the brush fire in Candia that has been burning since Wednesday.

Fire fighters from numerous local communities have come out to help extinguish the fire.

The wind and high temperatures have made the situation harder for fire fighters.

The fire is allegedly the largest in Candia in several years and was caused by lightning that struck a tree in the woods during thunderstorms on Monday, according to the Union Leader.
