Calling hours and funeral date set for young police officer with NH ties killed in Virginia

Calling hours and a funeral date have been set for the young police officer in Virginia who was killed on her first day on the job.

Ashley Guindon, a 28-year-old Prince William County police officer who grew up in Merrimack, was shot and killed responding to a domestic dispute last week. Two other officers were injured and the wife of the suspect was also killed.

Calling hours are planned for Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home in Agawam, Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield. Mass. on Monday at 11:00 am. Interment with police honors will follow at the Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Cemetery in West Springfield, Mass.

Guindon was born in Springfield but graduated high school in Merrimack where her mother still lives. A memorial service is planned in Virginia, where she worked.
