California teen arrested in connection with dormitory fire at Dartmouth College

HANOVER – A California teen has been charged in connection with a Feb. 18 fire at a dormitory at Dartmouth College.

Vikram Naidu, 19, of Saratoga, Calif., was arrested Thursday and faces a felony charges of arson and reckless conduct. He was released on $25,000 personal recognizance bail and $5,000 cash bail, according to police.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on April 4 at the Lebanon District Court.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing and involves the state fire marshal's office, which noted that intentionally set fires cause over 400 deaths, 1,300 injuries, and $1.3 billion dollars in direct property damage annually.
