Brown, Shaheen trade big endorsements in US Senate race

NASHUA - With five weeks to Election Day, Republican candidate Scott Brown and U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, traded heavy hitting endorsements Monday.

Brown got the backing Sept. 29, 2014, of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at a Nashua sheet metal company. The announcement was hardy a surprise since the group has been airing TV ads criticizing Shaheen for her support of Obamacare.

The state political action committee for the National Abortion Rights Action League came out for Shaheen.

They praised Shaheen for leading the fight for a federal law that would negate the Supreme Court's Hobby Lobby decision that allows employers with a religious objection to deny contraception under their health insurance plans.

And they point out while in the U.S. Senate in 2010, Brown helped author and vote for the so-called Blunt amendment to respect the religious views of these same employers.
