Brentwood police investigating attempted kidnapping of boy, 10, playing hide and seek

BRENTWOOD - Police are looking for a man they said tried to abduct a 10-year-old boy who was playing hide and seek on Tuesday.

Police said the man approached the boy - who was alone by the road - and tried to lure him into his vehicle at about 6:10 p.m. in the area of Mary Vey Drive and Mill Road in Brentwood, according to the Union Leader.

The man was driving a red truck with New Hampshire plates, according to police, and described as a possible Dodge with a white stripe.

Police said the man didn't threaten the boy but asked the boy repeatedly to get in the truck before the boy ran home to his parents. They called the police after.

The boy described the man as balding. Police are asking people to keep an eye out for the truck and to try and to try an get the licenese plate number.
