The New England Patriots have released linebacker Brandon Spikes after a car registered to Spikes was found on the highway, abandoned early Sunday.
According to police the car’s OnStar system says the driver reported hitting a deer-though no deer was found near the scene. Around the same time in that area a Nissan was reportedly rear ended, and the three occupants were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Police are investigating both incidents to see if they are connected.
