Boston Police seeking tips in shooting of 9-year-old girl

The Associated Press

BOSTON (AP) — Boston Police are asking the public to help them find those responsible for a shooting that sent a 9-year-old girl to the hospital.

WCVB-TV reports that the girl was with a group at a playground in the city's Roxbury neighborhood when shots were fired at about 1 a.m. Sunday.

Boston Police Chief William Gross issued a plea to the public for help getting more information about the shooting. Police said they were not sure where the shots came from.

The girl, who was with several other people when she was shot, was taken to the hospital for surgery. She is expected to recover.
