FALL RIVER, Mass. - A veteran photographer for Boston NBC affiliate WHDH-TV is banned from covering the Aaron Hernandez murder trial after admitting he followed a bus carrying jurors to the lot where they park their cars.
Two jurors filed a complaint before deliberations resumed Thursday morning. The photographer, Robert Cusanelli testified under oath that no one from the station specifically directed him to follow the bus.
Judge Susan Garsh said at this point in the trial, it's vital to respect the privacy of the jury. Cusanelli is not allowed inside the court or in any of the news trucks outside for the remainder of the trial.
If the judge decided to declare a mistrial, they would have to start the trial over with a new jury.
