Boston man arrested in theft of high-end ring in Nashua

The Associated Press

NASHUA (AP) - Police in Nashua say they've charged a 56-year-old Boston man with the theft of a ring worth more than $25,000 from a jewelry store.

Nashua Police say they were called to Barmakinan Jewelry on Daniel Webster Highway on the evening of Feb. 24 for the report of the theft.

Police say the man pretended to be a serious customer, asking to look at various pieces of jewelry. He allegedly distracted an employee and then walked out with a single ring.

Thomas Keane of 20 Linden St. in Boston was arrested on Monday, waived extradition and was returned to Nashua to face a felony theft charge punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Keane could not be reached, and it was unknown if he had a lawyer.
