Bomb squad responds to potential pipe bomb washed ashore at Sewalls Falls

CONCORD – What authorities are calling a suspicious device was found washed ashore near the Sewalls Falls bridge Monday afternoon.

Concord Police, state Police and the state bomb squad were called to the scene and after examining the device further, decided to blow it up around 4:30 p.m.

Police cordoned off one of the trails in the area as they worked to determine the origin of the device.
