Body pulled from Salmon Falls River in Somersworth

SOMERSWORTH - Police have found a body in the Salmon Falls River.

Officers responded to the area of the Salmon Falls River by the dam off Market Street, after the body was reported Saturday afternoon.

The body - that of a white male - was found floating face down in the river. Members of the Somersworth Police and Fire departments removed the body from the river.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death and the man's identity.

Somersworth police were assisted by the Somersworth Fire Department, New Hampshire Marine Patrol, New Hampshire Fish and Game, New Hampshire State Medical Examiner's Office and the Berwick, Maine, Police Department.
